Youth In Praise Scholarship

2005 Guidelines

• Student must be a Florida resident and entering a Florida college
• Student must submit a 500 word essay explaining their academic college and career goals as well as why they should get this scholarship award
• Student must be a minority
• Student must obtain 3 professional references/not a family member
• Student must be able to recite in 100 words or less the positive affect that gospel music has had on their life.
• Student should submit in writing at least 3 ways that they have given of themselves freely church, community, etc. (official signatures from these entities must occupy the writing)
• Student should submit in writing their favorite scripture and why it’s their favorite in no less than a 50 word essay.
• All written submissions must be received by post marked date Sept. 20^th, 2005
• Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and must graduate from high school in order to receive the scholarship.    
• A photo of the student must be submitted ( photos will not be returned )
• Student must give general information: Name, address, contact phone number, parents name, high school, age, gender, and ethnicity.

Ø      There will be 2 winners of the $1000.00 cash scholarship.  1 male and 1 female.

Ø      25 finalist will be selected to attend the Youth In Praise Scholarship Celebration on Friday October 7^th, 2005 at the Victory Way Christian Center, 4058 St. Augustine Rd. in Jacksonville, Florida.
